Who is the course is for?

This course is aimed at learners with some computer experience and would like to learn about sending and receiving emails.

How long is the course?

One session per week for 5 weeks. The session is usually 2 Hours per week.

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

Basic English, mathematics and computer skills are required.

What will the course cover and what should I be able to do by the end of it?

Learners will gain the skills and knowledge required by an IT user to use e-mail software tools to send and receive email messages.

Learners will:

·         Be able to use e-mail software tools to open an email

·         Be able to reply to  an email

·         Be able to compose a message and send an email

·         Be able to work safely using e-mail software tools.

Will I get a qualification?             

You will be given an attendance certificate to say that you have attended and completed the course successfully.

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

If you require additional support you can attend any one of the study support sessions to practise what you have learnt.

How will my progress be assessed?

You will be assessed on the completion of the exercises/tasks completed during the sessions.

What can I expect to go on to after this course?

Learners can progress onto any Entry 3 or Level 1 ICT course offered at our Learning Centres.

Are there any costs and what do I need to bring?

There are no costs, but you need to bring a pen and a notepad. Handouts will be given during the sessions.

What support is available?

You will receive one to one support from your tutor throughout the course but we will also talk to you about any other support needs you may have. You can also attend our study support sessions to practice.
