Who is the course is for?

For learners that want to learn how to create business cards using Microsoft Publisher.

How long is the course?

One session, usually between 3 – 6 hours.

What skills, knowledge or experience do I need to start this course?

You are expected to be able to write and communicate at a minimum entry level 3. We can arrange a literacy assessment if you are not sure. No other experience is necessary.

What will the course cover and what should I be able to do by the end of it?

You will learn how to create a business card using the existing design templates within Microsoft Publisher. You will also learn how to create a business card from scratch.  By the end of this course you will be able to produce a professional looking business card that could include text, colour, backgrounds, logos and images.

Will I get a qualification?

There is no qualification as this is a taster course, but you can ask for a certificate of attendance if you require one.

What extra study or practice is expected outside of the class?

If you require additional support you can attend any one of the study support sessions to go over and practice what you have learnt on this course.

How will my progress be assessed?

You will be assessed on the completion of the exercises/tasks that you will be required to do on that day.

What can I expect to go on to after this course?

On successful completion of this course you can progress onto the E3 Desktop Publishing course or any of the ICT OCNLR entry 3 level or any open level course.

Are there any costs and what do I need to bring?

The course is free and handouts will be provided but you will need to bring along your own pen, note book and a ring binder (folder).

What support is available?

You will receive support from your tutor throughout the course but we will also talk to you about any other support needs you may have. You can also attend our study support sessions to practice.
